Christantus Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Even though entering their maiden European campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing key players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles departed Dublin with a commanding result that virtually secures them a place in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
Another three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially after a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season were no match against a mostly second-string Palace outfit. The visitors were further weakened by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee injuries.
Dominance Asserted from the Outset
Despite heavy rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton went close minutes later, fizzing a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the referee waved away the protests.

Shelbourne were clinging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to escape a booking for a couple of agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards rattled the woodwork with a header from a corner.
Pino Wraps Up the Game
The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
